Rob Jenkins is a professor of ESL and the Faculty Development Coordinator serving over 300 instructors teaching for Santa Ana College School of Continuing Education in California. He is a recipient of the Santa Ana College Distinguished Faculty Award. Rob is also a textbook author and consultant for National Geographic Learning. He is the author of Stand Out and series editor for World English, and also consults on state and national projects. Rob and Staci Johnson, his co-author, were awarded the Heinle Outstanding Achievement Award for their contribution to publishing in 2013

I would like to highlight everything...

This book is so well written and thoughtful that I am tempted to highlight everything, but I guess that defeats the purpose. It is so helpful and to the point that I would unambiguously recommend it to anyone who leads anyone--from your own kids to a major corporation. As I just started a new position as Pro-Dean at the University of Sydney, Faculty of Dentistry, I am attempting to incorporate the virtues into my daily work.

This book is a must read for everyone. The 9 Virtues of Exceptional Leaders does a great job introducing and explaining each virtue. The authors then weave a story with a lot of great examples that ties the virtues together.

Manteniéndose fiel a la aproximación fenomenológica, esta obra nos invita a hacer una inmersión en la vivencia adolescente, lo cual implica detenernos para hacer conciencia de los supuestos del mundo adulto, identificando los imaginarios y las creencias a priori más comunes en relación a los jóvenes, tales como "los jóvenes son muy rebeldes", "los adolescentes son impulsivos", etc. Imaginarios que filtran y sesgan la percepción que se tiene de ellos y que pueden constituirse en verdaderos obstáculos para una comprensión real.
Sin embargo, no se trata de un texto eminentemente teórico, pues ofrece también pautas y elementos prácticos para la construcción de buenas relaciones con jóvenes, así como herramientas para fomentar la percepción y realización de un sentido de vida, que pueden aplicarse en la cotidianidad, bien sea desde el consultorio: generando adherencia a la psicoterapia, motivación para el cambio y compromiso, desde el salón de clases: aumentando la receptividad, la participación y el entusiasmo, o en casa: mejorando la convivencia, facilitando la aceptación de los límites y fortaleciendo los vínculos.
La adolescencia es la etapa de transición en la cual se comienzan a acentuar gradualmente los rasgos de personalidad que serán más estables en la vida adulta. ¿Cómo se configura la personalidad en la adolescencia?, ¿cómo se desarrolla una personalidad auténtica o inauténtica?, ¿puede presentarse un trastorno de personalidad en la adolescencia?. Esta y otras preguntas se plantean y desarrollan a lo largo del capítulo dedicado al tema de la personalidad.
La influencia que tenemos los adultos en el proceso de estructuración de la personalidad de los jóvenes, no es menor. Razón por la cual se propone, en un tono irónico y humorístico, una serie de pautas para "ayudar" a desarrollar trastornos de personalidad en los jóvenes. A través de una estrategia ampliamente difundida en la Logoterapia: la intención paradójica, se invita al lector a identificar todo lo que NO debemos hacer, si se quiere evitar deformar la personalidad de los jóvenes en una de tipo patológica.

About the Author

A unique spicy read

The Colors of Autumn is the third book in Silke Ming's Five Widows Series. With each new installment I noticed that each of the widows has different sexual tastes which adds its own flavor to the stories. They are always unique in their own way and are BIG with the sex scenes. I really liked this story a lot more then the last one. But there was a couple of small things that did bother me about this book.

Shortly after Autumn goes to Charleston to meet back with Bobby Jo for some more hot sex, Autumn learns that Bobby Jo likes to be in control in the bedroom. When Bobby Jo decides to do some personal grooming on Autumn, one of the terms that was used disturbed me. I did not like to think of a woman's mound to be a "grassy knoll" that needed to be "sheared like a spring lamb". This definitely made me think poor Autumn had a forest down there and I didn't find that sexy at all. However, the sex between Bobby Jo and Autumn was quite hot and inventive and was really something to read about. The only other thing that threw me slightly was I felt for Autumn's age, she was too naive and too young minded in my opinion. Other then these two things, I really did enjoy the story. I liked how Autumn was trying to find herself and thought her experimenting with Bobby Jo and Richard and her finally able to figure out what she really wanted was really well played.

With everything being so interesting and the story being really unique and sexy over all, I gave The Colors of Autumn a FOUR OUT OF FOUR STARS! Even though there was a couple of things that popped out as being a little odd, the story all together was really good and I found this to be one of my favorites in The Five Widows series.
